Morgan Thermal Ceramics (http://www.morganthermalcerami...)

These are thin sheet products, including millboard, paper and felt. Paper is a roll product produced from ceramic fibers and organic binders on conventional papermaking equipment, while felt is a pressed product, also formed from ceramic fibres and bonded with an organic binder. Many special grades offer properties like no binder outgassing, low shot content and high strength.

Suitable for a variety of insulation and filtration applications, they are available for applications that range from 1500°F to 3000°F. They can easily be cut, folded, wrapped, rolled and applied around sharp corners. Both paper and felts perform well as gasketing or as an expandable trough liner. Paper is often used between castable and block insulation as a barrier layer.

Typical applications include:

  • Aerospace applications
  • Automotive airbags
  • Muffler and brakes
  • Combustion chambers
  • Catalytic Converters
  • Home appliances
  • Furnaces
  • Investment cast molds
  • Gaskets and parting agents

Features and Benefits

  • Outstanding handling characteristics and high insulating value at high temperatures.
  • Has good green strength, is very pliable, will not crack or spall and is non-wetting.
