Crucibles come in a variety of shapes and sizes designed to be compatible with many different melting/pouring systems. They can be manufactured from several high performance materials: alumina, zirconia, silicon carbide, clay graphite, magnesium oxide and various mixtures. Similar type products made from the same materials also include launders, chin tiles, ladle bowls, pyrometer sheaths, tubes and ladle liners.
Employed by the aluminum, copper / copper alloy, steel and precious metal industries in gas fired melting / holding furnaces, electric resistance furnaces, and induction furnaces for metal melting and molten metal delivery applications.
